During washing, foreign objects can get into the washing machine: small change, buttons, bra bone. You can find out about this by the unusual noise, clanging, creaking. In most cases, these items remain in the ram and can be easily removed. The bone from the bra can also get into other working units of the machine, which leads to its breakdown. Therefore, it must be removed, which can often be done independently.
Why is a bra bone for a typewriter dangerous?
The frame part of women's underwear is small, but this will not prevent it from causing considerable harm. If you do not get it in time, you can face the following consequences:
- the bone made of metal begins to rust, which is why the laundry is washed in dirty water and gets dirty;
- the sharp part of the bone sticking out of the drum during its rotation can tear the laundry inside;
- may damage the drum perforations;
- a sharp bone can pierce the tank;
- cause damage to the heating element coating, because of which it will not be able to fully work, or break it into parts;
- tear the drain collar, leading to a leak;
- pierce the pipe, which cannot be repaired;
- get stuck in the pump blades, which can cause it to burn or fail.

Where to looking for?
Having found atypical noises in the typewriter, you need to find the cause. If there is a possibility that a linen bone remains in the washing machine, it must be found. It can be located in different structural details:
- Stuck in the drum. The rotating structure has a perforation for draining water. Foreign objects often fall into small holes. If one end of the bone hits the hole, it can get stuck there or go further.
- In the heating element. If the bone has passed through the perforation, it is more likely to linger at the bottom of the tank where the heating element is located. You should search in its curves or under it.
- Between tank and drum. If the bra part is not stuck in the heating element, it may be in the cavity behind the drum, and not only from the side or bottom, but also from the back.
- In other elements of the machine. In rare cases, the bone will move further and become stuck in the drain pipe, filter or pump.
We take out the underwire from the bra through the drum
If the bone begins to fall into the cavity behind the drum and gets stuck in it, it is not difficult to get it out. Its presence is determined visually. At the same time, part of it, as a rule, sticks out in the drum. It is enough to grab onto it and carefully remove it.
If it was not possible to consider it in shiny metal, you need to follow the following procedure:
- Check by touch. To do this, you need to run your hand over the entire surface of the drum.
- Having found the protruding corner of the bone, stop the drum.
- Take tweezers, tweezers, thin pliers.

How to remove a bone through a drain system
If the bone is plastic, it breaks easily. Because of this and due to its low weight, its parts do not linger in the drum or in the heating element, but slip further into the drain system of the machine. They should be removed according to one of the instructions below, according to the location.
How to remove through the filter
The filter should be cleaned regularly. It is in it that all the debris and small objects that slip into the perforation of the drum get into. Parts of a broken bone can also be found here. The filter is cleaned in this order:
- Open the filter hatch. It is located at the bottom of the front of the device. You can open it by pressing the latch or prying it with a screwdriver.
- Prepare a rag or container to drain the water. Since the hatch is at the very bottom of the machine, it is sometimes more convenient to tilt it back.
- Holding onto the special projections, unscrew the filter. Get it out.
- Take a close look at the filter and the hole where it is located. The bone can be found in both places.
- Rinse the filter under the tap.
- Clean the hole from accumulated debris. Wipe it down with a rag.
- Insert filter, tighten. Close the hatch.
Take it out through the drain
Look for linen fittings in the drain pipe, if it is not found in the drum or filter, and also provided that the machine does not emit extraneous noise during operation. The set of measures is somewhat different for devices of different types. Washing machines of a standard type, which are not equipped with a protective case against leaks, are best disassembled according to the following instructions:
- Lay equipment on its side.
- Unscrew the bottom fasteners or snap off the latches. Remove the lower part of the housing.
- Unscrew the fastener on the ring or loosen the bolt on the clamp.
- Remove the pipe.
- Inspect the drain hole and the visible interior of the machine. For this, it is better to use a flashlight. Sometimes the bone can fall out by itself if it gets stuck at the exit.
- Insert the pipe, tighten the fasteners.
- Put the bottom. Turn the equipment over.
If the washer is equipped with a spill protection, it is not recommended to remove the bottom. To get to the pipe through the bottom, you will need to remove the protective element, which requires some experience. Therefore, it is more convenient to get to the nozzle through the back wall. After that, you need to look for the stuck part by touch, as far as your fingers can get through. It is difficult to look inside, because the hole is rather narrow. It can be very difficult to find a bone if it is not near the place where the pipe is attached.
If the bone is stuck in the pump
A strong humming or grinding noise when the pump is turned on is an indication that a bone has entered the pump. Also pay attention to the drain system. With a faulty pump, the water may not drain well or not be pumped out at all.
Important:
If you hear an atypical noise when pumping or draining water, you need to stop using the machine. If a foreign object enters the pump, it may burn.
Deal with the problem as soon as possible. To remove the bone from the pumping equipment, you will need to open it. Its location differs from model to model:
- The location behind the filter is found in Ariston, Ardo, Veko, Indesit, Samsung, Candy, Whirpool, LG. It is easier to inspect the pump through the bottom using the instructions described above.
- Rear wall location for Electrolux and Zanussi. Disassembly is best done through it.
- In the central part, closer to the top at AEG, Bosch, Siemens. To access the pump, the cover and front panel must be removed. It is required to remove the dispenser, unlock the hatch cuff. You should not disassemble such machines on your own, so as not to damage the device. It is better for the owners of such devices to immediately contact a professional.
The installation method and internal arrangement of the pumps are identical. To remove the bone from the pump, you must:
- Pull out the connector to disconnect the power.
- Prepare a basin and a rag, as the water remaining in the pump will flow during disassembly.
- Unscrew the fasteners that secure the equipment to the chassis.
- Loosen the clamps, remove the inlet and drain hoses.
- Unscrew the snail.
- Remove the impeller from the housing. The bone more often gets stuck between its blades or is pressed against the body inside, which is visible after removing the impeller.
- Inspect the impeller. If it is damaged, the pump will not be able to work productively, in particular, to drain water. The entire pump will need to be replaced.
- If there is no damage, the impeller must be replaced and the pump assembled.
Before using the washing machine fully, it is recommended that you first check the operation of the pumping unit. To do this, you need to start a quick wash and observe the operation of the machine in order to detect a leak in a timely manner. If the check is carried out with the case not completely closed, you must not touch the internal parts until the wash is finished.
We take out through the heating element
If the bone has passed through the drum, it often falls down and gets stuck in the heating element or under it. You will need to remove the heating element to reach it. You can do this on your own when the heating element is located at the bottom of the machine. The procedure looks like this:
- Remove the rear surface of the housing.
- Disconnect power. Electricity to the heating element comes through a three-core cable. In this case, the phase and zero are usually fixed with terminals, and the ground wire is more often fixed with a clamping nut.
- By disconnecting the ground from the center stud, the retaining nut can be seen. Loosen the nut without unscrewing it completely. Press the hairpin into it to the end.
- Move the heating element. Get it out. This usually requires a lot of effort, but the use of a screwdriver or other tools is prohibited to avoid damage. Also, do not pull the heating element by the wires.
- More often, the bone gets stuck between the heater tubes, so it is removed with it. If it is absent, it is worth looking in the socket for the installation of the heating element. She can fall under it and lie at the bottom.
- Inspect the heating element for damage. Sometimes a metal bone can not only scratch it, but also break it apart.
- After fixing the problem, it is necessary to extend the pin by pushing the fastening part from the inside. Insert the heating element into the socket, gently press the cuff.
- Tighten the retaining nut. If overtightened, it could break the seal and cause leakage. The seal seals the tank well, so the nut can be slightly missed. After a test wash, you can always tighten it if a drop of water is found on it.
- Connect power to the heater.
- Run a quick wash to test the machine's operation. Do not touch the parts until the machine stops washing.
Advice:
If, when inspecting the heating element, scratches and damage are found, it is better to replace the part. During operation, such a heater can cause a short circuit, lead to damage to the machine and other unpleasant consequences.
How to pull out if caught by the drum spider
When the lingerie fittings have fallen behind the tank cross or are stuck on top or on the side of it, you will most likely need the help of a specialist. You should not take it out yourself, because in this situation you need to disassemble the tank. Its device is different for each machine.You can see the diagram in the data sheet, but for a person who does not have experience it is problematic to understand and correctly perform the actions. Some models are equipped with a non-separable tank.
It is possible to get the fittings without disassembling the tank, if you can move it and let it fall further - to the heating element and the drain pipe. Recommended procedure:
- Unscrew the back of the housing.
- Remove the belt from the pulley.
- Unscrew the mounting hardware and remove the pulley.
- Tighten the bolt halfway.
- Use a rubber mallet to knock lightly on the shaft to displace the tank.
- Move the drum a little to cause the fittings to sink to the bottom of the tank. You can find out about this by sound.
- If the bone has failed, you can get it out through a pipe or heating element according to the rules described above.
Advice:
If you don't have a rubber knob hammer, you can use a regular one. You need to choose a light hammer. Beat the shaft through a wooden block so as not to damage it.
