Today, in our review, representatives of two generations of portable irrigators met: a veteran of the struggle for oral hygiene, the American Waterpik WP450 and the young Russian Revyline RL600, which has already managed to make itself known on the market and was able to take its rightful place on store shelves. Comparing two models of the same product category is not an attempt to prove that one is better or worse than the other. Rather, it is an opportunity to show that two similar models have their own characteristics, which may not be very important for someone, but decisive for others when buying.
Portable irrigator Revyline RL600
One glance is enough to understand that we have a modern model, which has not only become a successful decision not only for designers, but also for engineers. The irrigator control panel is small, stylishly outlined with decorative trim. Above there are two large buttons: one is responsible for powering the device, the second ("M") - serves to switch pressure levels, as well as to activate the "Massage" mode - just press and hold the button for 2-3 seconds. Many stationary irrigators cannot boast of the ability to work in massage mode, it is provided in the RL600. When this mode is turned on, the nature of the water jet changes - during each pulse of the flow, its pressure level changes. The jet of water has a compressive, then uncompressive effect on the gums. Stimulation of blood supply occurs, metabolic processes in soft tissues are activated.
There are three pressure levels for the cleaning mode (low, medium, high). Level selection is indicated by indicator lights on the control panel. The irrigator memorizes the level and, when turned on again, operates in the same mode that was last when turned off.
The fluid pressure level that Revyline RL600 is capable of is 827 kPa. Not every stationary irrigator is capable of this. A 200 ml drop-shaped liquid reservoir is located on the back of the housing.
The irrigator is equipped with a built-in battery with a capacity of 1400 mAh, which can be recharged both from the mains and from another electronic device via the USB port.
There are four interchangeable attachments in the basic configuration:
- Standard (2 pcs.) - designed for regular cleaning;
- Orthodontic - provides care for braces and other orthodontic structures;
- The Implant Care Tip removes plaque and food particles from the gum-implant areas.
The irrigator is compatible with all Revyline Type A nozzles.

WaterPik is the oldest company in the oral irrigation equipment market. For more than half a century, its products have been supplied all over the world. This fame allows not only maintaining high sales, but maintaining high prices. Waterpik WP450 is significantly more expensive than its partner in today's review.
The body of the model has a classic shape - a comfortable narrowed space for holding in the hand and an extended lower part with a reservoir. The controls are located on the front panel.These are two slide switches: one for turning on the power, the other for selecting modes. There are two modes.
A full charge of the battery allows the device to operate for up to two weeks if used twice a day for two minutes. Charging from the AC mains through a special charger that is included with the irrigator.
The maximum power of the water jet is 520 kPa. Not much by today's standards, but this is enough for a fairly effective cleaning of the oral cavity from plaque.
A nice bonus for the purchase of this device is four interchangeable nozzles that allow you to use the irrigator for solving various hygiene tasks. The standard nozzle is used for daily cleaning, the orthodontic nozzle is indispensable for the care of braces and other orthodontic devices, a special nozzle for implant care will keep problem gum areas clean, and the tongue cleaning nozzle will get rid of unpleasant odors and bacterial plaque.
