Where should you put the powder in the washing machine?

All basic functions are automated in the washing machine, including the addition of powder or special detergents, depending on the washing stage. For these purposes, a special tray is used, which has several dosing compartments. But where to put the washing powder in the washing machine?

What is each branch for?

Depending on the type of machine, it can be located:

  • Under the lifting lid - on top-loading machines.
  • On the left side above the tank - in machines where the laundry is loaded horizontally.

Which compartment in the machine to fall asleep in depends on the program and for which laundry will be used. Basically, an automatic washing machine has three compartments, each of which has its own purpose. They are designated with special symbols, letters or numbers (they are detailed in the instructions). If the instruction is not available:

  • the number I or the letter "A" - mark the compartment (cuvette) where powder for preliminary washing is poured. If such a function is not provided in the set of programs of the machine, then such a compartment, accordingly, is absent. This compartment can also be identified by its size - it is medium in volume.
  • the number ІІ or the letter B - this is the designation of the dispenser into which the washing powder is poured, which is necessary for the main stage of washing. In size - it is the largest.
  • an asterisk / flower, less often the designation "Softener" is the smallest in volume, it is used to fill in rinses and conditioners. They can be added both before the start of the wash, and already in the process, but before the start of the rinsing period.

Important:

Stain remover or bleach must not be added to the rinse aid drawer - they are too aggressive and could ruin the laundry.

Is it possible to pour powder into the drum of the washing machine

It is difficult to unequivocally answer how justified is the option in which the washing powder is poured directly into the drum. If the powder compartment does not work, then this method is the only one. This approach has several advantages.

pros

  • Savings - pouring detergent directly into the drum can add less than using the tray.
  • As the rinsing process rinses the powder directly in the drum, the process is much more efficient. This is due to the fact that when the powder is supplied from the compartment during the main wash, part of it may stick to the internal parts. And then get on things when water is supplied to rinse the laundry.
  • In recent years, more and more common means designed specifically for direct placement inside the drum are various capsules, as well as gels that are poured into special containers.

It should be understood that when it comes to pouring the powder directly into the tank, a special container must be used. It has special holes through which the powder is washed out with water. This is due to the fact that simply pouring the powder into the drum before washing has a number of significant disadvantages.

Minuses

  • It dissolves slightly at low (up to 40 degrees) temperature and with reduced wash modes. When washed out of the tray, it partially dissolves, and already in the drum it is completely diluted in water. Therefore, it is justified to put the powder directly into the tank during prolonged washing at high temperatures.
  • Before starting the washing process, the drum is freed from water - this can lead to washing out of a large amount of detergent.
  • In some automatic machines, the function of gradual addition of powder is provided, which is washed out of the powder receptacle in certain doses. If it is placed in the drum before starting washing, this function will not be implemented correctly.
  • It is not justified to add powder to the drum in washing machines with the EcoBubble function (foam generator). When dispensing from the dispenser, the detergent dissolves much more efficiently, therefore the washing quality will be higher.
  • The direct addition of powder eliminates such a part of the mode as the pre-wash; you cannot add powder to the inside of the drum before starting the main cycle.
  • Do not add rinse aid or fabric softener directly to the drum - they are dispensed from the tray at the start of the rinse cycle.
  • It is not recommended to put stain remover or bleach in the drum - they are very concentrated, so their direct application to the garment can discolor the fabric.

Important:

Do not sprinkle on black (very dark items), when dissolved, it can provoke the appearance of light spots due to discoloration of the fabric dye.

Where to put powder in the top loader?

In machines of these models, the powder compartments are located directly on the lid. Moreover, not at the top, but inside. Therefore, it is impossible to see them at first sight. But when you open the car, you will see a special compartment.

It is made in the form of pockets and is very convenient. The inscriptions that mark the compartments on such typewriters are completely identical to those on the front ones.

So we hope you don't get confused. After all, everything is very simple! It is worth remembering once and you will never make mistakes, which means that the quality of your washings will be simply perfect.
