Today I have compiled a rating from the TOP 5 best cleaning robotic vacuum cleaners of 2020. Polishers are the fastest growing segment of robotic vacuum cleaners that deserves your attention. The rating includes top models from different manufacturers. The seats are assigned based on the functionality and my personal opinion. I tried to be objective and give reasons for each position in the ranking, taking into account my experience of using both robotic vacuum cleaners and floor polishers.

Hobot LEGEE-688

We start with the leader of the rating. This is the best cleaning robot floor polisher of the past and current 2020, and therefore it is awarded the honorable first place in the ranking. The main feature of the model is two movable blocks that perform up to 10 vibrations per second. Between them are nozzles that wet the surface. One napkin washes the floor, the other polishes.

Unlike other participants in the rating, Hobot 688 simultaneously removes small debris and dust, suction power up to 2100 kPA. Keep in mind, the floor polisher is not suitable for picking up large debris, but it does an excellent job with fine and dust!

If you simplify everything, you get the following scheme of work: Vacuum cleaner - Dry wipe - Spray water - Wet wipe.

A system of laser sensors is responsible for navigation, they work like a lidar. As well as a gyroscope, an electromagnetic compass, elevation differential sensors - a standard set of a top robot. In my experience, the floor polisher perfectly understands the location of obstacles, competently builds a map of the room, does not miss any areas, and even more so rooms.

You can control both the remote control and through the application. There are 7 cleaning modes available, in the custom mode you can set the intensity of the spray liquid and the suction power of the vacuum cleaner. It is possible to set a daily cleaning schedule, create cleaning diaries.

Benefits:

The average price today is 32,500 rubles. It should be borne in mind that the Hobot 688 is designed for cleaning hard surfaces, it is not suitable for carpets, like all floor polishers from the rating.

iRobot Braava Jet M6

The second place is taken by the floor polisher from iRobot. You say iRobot and second place? How so? It's simple - this model simply sprays liquid in front of itself and wipes it off with a napkin. This is better than just wet cleaning with a napkin, you can add detergents, but wiping off dirt from the floor will be noticeably worse than Hobot.

The second is exclusively a floor polisher. There is no vacuum cleaner function at all. This is another disadvantage compared to Hobot.

But there are also cool branded chips from iRobot. Jet M6 can work in tandem with other robots from the manufacturer - iRobot Roomba i7 / i7 + and Roomba s9 / s9 +. The vacuum cleaner finishes cleaning, gives a signal, after which the floor polisher starts to work. This approach makes the process more efficient and autonomous.

Benefits:

• Works in tandem with a robot vacuum cleaner from the same manufacturer.
• Smartphone connection and control via voice assistants.
• Large cleaning area.

Disadvantages:

• The wash panel is stationary.
• Price.

The washing robot vacuum cleaner is controlled via a smartphone, is friendly with the voice assistant Google Assistant and Alexa. Navigation based on iAdapt 3.0 and vSLAM technology, builds a map. There are no complaints about navigation, it builds and saves a map, everything is in the style of iRobot. The kit includes a virtual wall that Hobota does not have. Well, let's move on to the main selection criterion, to the price, and it is 45,000 rubles, which is 13,000 rubles more than Hobot. Overpayment for brand or quality? You decide. The robot is definitely worth your attention.

ilife W400

Cleaning cloth from the famous Chinese brand of Robotic vacuum cleaners. The 3rd place gets for its modest price, on Aliexpress you can buy for 15,500 rubles, which is 2-3 times cheaper than competitors. And the second reason is the cleaning system itself, it is unique in its own way! From the reservoir, water is pumped and sprayed onto the surface, the floor is cleaned by a rotating roller, it captures all the debris that is collected by the air flow into a special reservoir. There is a scraper behind the roller, which completes the cleaning process and erases the remaining stains. The dirty water is collected in another container, a rather unusual and interesting solution.

The navigation system is represented by OBS obstacle sensors and height difference sensors. Of course, there is no lidar, building a room map and a smartphone app. Lack of connection to a smartphone will not be considered a disadvantage, for this price category - a normal package. All in all it is a good and inexpensive floor polisher with a well thought out washing system. Only the Hobot 688 with its movable nozzles is better than him in this regard, but the cost of the Hobot is also higher, although it is also not intended for dry cleaning.

Benefits:

• Well thought out wet cleaning system.
• Large volume of water tank.

Disadvantages:

• Small wheels, obstacles pass poorly.

The ilife W400 is installed manually on the docking station, but this also cannot be attributed to disadvantages, since after washing the floor, in any case, you need to empty and clean the tank and filters before proceeding with the next cleaning. So the robot actually has all the functionality necessary for its work.

Xiaomi SWDK ZDG300

This model is ranked fourth in my ranking. Released in 2019 and has already proven itself well. Wet cleaning is reminiscent of the Hobot process - two wash heads vibrate to simulate the movement of your hands when washing the floor. A hard napkin is installed on the front nozzle, and a soft napkin on the back one, which completes the wash. Water comes from the tank through 4 holes, if the robot stops, the water supply stops. In fact, they spied on the technology from Hobot. The main difference is that the water is not supplied to the floor, but to the napkin. There is no data on the frequency of movement of the movable heads in the network. Nor is there a vacuum mode that Hobot has.

The model is also interesting for the navigation system - a camera with a viewing angle of 135 degrees is far from a lidar, as in the Xiaomi S5 Maxx, but better than its absence. There are infrared sensors and a gyroscope, all the information received is analyzed by a 4-core processor and a map is made taking into account all obstacles. In general, it copes with navigation, bypasses iLife, but is inferior to Hobot and iRobot. Controlled via a smartphone in the proprietary Mi Home application. The average cost is 18,000 rubles, which is quite good for such functionality.

Benefits:

• It makes a noticeable noise during operation.

One of the big claims is that the application does not work on IOS, the manufacturer knows about the problem and promises to fix it, but keep in mind. I recommend the floor polisher for purchase, it wipes the floors worse than previous participants, but outperforms iLife in navigation. It makes no sense to compare with Hobot, it is inferior to it, but it is also cheaper.

Everybot edge

Robot Vacuum Cleaner from Everybot completes the ranking and takes fifth place. Its main feature is the napkins protruding over the edge and the reduced width, due to which it cleans corners and edges well. There are no touch bumpers in the robot, they have been replaced by sensors, this also contributes to tighter passage along walls and corners. The movement along the walls is carried out in circles. In general, the manufacturer has done everything to clean the corners as efficiently as possible, it is not for nothing that the name of the model contains the word "Edge".

The program includes 8 modes. You can turn off the height difference sensors, which eliminates the problem that arises with many robots - they determine the black floor covering as a height difference and refuse to move on it. You can use the robot for manual cleaning of vertical surfaces; for this, the appropriate mode is turned on.

Benefits:

• Compact size, not counting the rather high height.
• A rich set of operating modes.
• Effective cleaning in corners and along walls.
• Identifies obstacles well and does not bump into furniture.
• Capacious battery.
• Quiet work.
• Works even on black surfaces.
• Can clean vertical surfaces manually.

Disadvantages:

• The kit does not include a virtual wall.
• The high height does not allow moving under low furniture.
• The cleaning cycle depends only on time, that is, the same amount of time is spent on rooms with different areas - 50 or 100 minutes, depending on the set mode.

Used only for wet cleaning. An interesting design solution - two napkins, to which water from the reservoir is supplied under pressure, due to the rotation of the napkins, the robot moves. The average cost is 20,000 rubles.

Good budget floor polisher, can handle an area of ​​50 sq.m. Suitable for daily use, but it will not cope with difficult stains, it does not have enough pressure and mass to wipe off dried stains. If difficult stains are often found on the floor and cleaning under low furniture is important - go back to the Xiaomi SWDK ZDG300 model, it is equipped with vibrating attachments, controlled from a smartphone and the price difference is small. Everybot beats Xiaomi only in the ability to carry out vertical cleaning, it is indispensable for cleaning tiles and glass.
