Review of the robot vacuum cleaner iLife A80 Plus

The iLife A80 Plus robot vacuum cleaner from Chuwi entered the international market in 2020 and immediately won a leading position in its price segment. The robot vacuum cleaner is designed for dry and wet cleaning, it has a wide range of functions, a good set of supplies and an attractive appearance. According to its characteristics, it is practically not inferior to more expensive and top-end models, and according to some indicators it even has a small advantage. We will get to know him in more detail in my review.

Appearance

iLife A80 Plus

The vacuum cleaner has an unremarkable appearance and is made in a pale pink color. On the top cover there is a mechanical Start / Stop button and a Wi-Fi network connection indicator. There is a special pad on the front for soft touch when colliding with objects, on the side there is a power button and a connector for connecting a power supply. At the back there is a place for a container with a 450 ml garbage. A special feature of this dust collector is the double filtration system, its feature is that larger debris remains in the upper filter mesh, and smaller debris passes through 6 cyclone-type chambers into the HEPA filter without mixing with air, which in turn goes to routed through a special pleated filter. There is also a 300ml water tank on the back with a 3-level electronic system for adjusting the wetting of the napkin. The device itself is not large, 33cm long, 32cm wide and 8cm high, and weighs 2.5kg.

Equipment

Devay comes in a branded box with a picture of the device itself, on the top of the box there is a handle for easy transportation. The package includes:

  • Robot vacuum cleaner.
  • Remote control.
  • Charging dock.
  • 2 spare side brushes.
  • Spare filter.
  • Power adapter.
  • Fiber napkins.
  • Water tank.
  • Virtual wall.
  • Instrumentation.

In fairness, it should be noted that the manufacturer did not skimp and added additional brushes, a filter and wipes for wet cleaning to the kit. A very small number of models can boast of such a set, even in the top price segment.

Functionality

iLife A80 Plus

Despite its low cost, the vacuum cleaner is very technological and functional. The battery with a capacity of 2600 mAh is responsible for its autonomy, its charge will last for 110 minutes of dry cleaning, and for 90 minutes of wet cleaning. If during operation the device starts to discharge, it will automatically go to the station, it takes 350 minutes to fully charge, after which it will return to the point where it did the work. The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a 22W Nidek motor, it is able to provide a suction power of 1100Pa with a maximum noise level of 68dB. It is possible to set one of three power levels characterized by different suction power: 600, 1000 and 1100 Pa. The vacuum cleaner will easily connect to your smartphone via the proprietary application. There are many settings available to you. For example, you can choose one operating mode out of 5: automatic, snake, spot cleaning, maximum power mode and drive around the perimeter, adjust the amount of wetting of the napkin, control the device with an analog joystick, schedule and schedule cleaning, and much more.During wet cleaning, the vacuum cleaner moves along a Z-shaped trajectory, it provides a better cleaning. The gyroscope is responsible for navigation, which copes with its task very well, it scans the room with an accuracy of 98% and displays its map on the screen of your smartphone, but there is a significant drawback of this model - the room map is not saved in the device's memory, so you have to every cleaning, scan the room over a new one and wait while the application processes the data from the gyroscope and displays it on the smartphone screen. Also, you will not be able to put virtual walls, but since the function is very popular among users, the manufacturer included a physical virtual wall in the delivery set, you just need to place a special device near the wall and it will create an obstacle invisible to the human eye. When cleaning, the robot can overcome various obstacles up to 15mm high thanks to the large wheels and a special function that increases the engine power when driving onto the carpet.

Advantages and disadvantages:

Benefits:

  • Suction power.
  • Combined cleaning.
  • Z-shaped trajectory movement.
  • Electronic adjustment of wipe wetting.
  • Control via remote control and smartphone.
  • Automatic power increase when driving onto the carpet.
  • Extensive scope of delivery.

Disadvantages:

  • Navigation system.
  • Room maps are not saved in the mobile app.
  • You can't put up virtual walls.
  • There are no batteries for the remote control.
  • Small battery.

Verdict

A very interesting model from the Chinese company Chuwi. The manufacturer made an excellent marketing ploy by releasing iLife A80 Plus in such a pink color, it pays attention to it and subsequently acquires a large number of girls. The robot vacuum cleaner does an excellent job with dry and wet cleaning, does not leave streaks after washing the floors, but due to the small battery, it will relatively often require recharging. The device is very functional and, like its more expensive competitors, it can connect to Wi-Fi and be controlled from a smartphone, but it does not have the ability to save maps of premises in its memory, in my opinion this is very inconvenient and impractical. The cost of this model is 18,000 rubles, given the above models, in my opinion, the price tag is not too high.
