Samsung UE49NU7100U is a TV with Smart TV and a modern matrix with 4K resolution, worth 38 thousand rubles. I decided to figure out if it was possible to save money, and compared this TV with a cheaper one. TCL L50P6US (31 thousand rubles). In addition, I made a comparison with a top TV from another brand - LG 49SK8000 NanoCell (39 thousand rubles).

Screen
The diagonal is 48.5 ”(123 cm), the screen resolution is 3840 × 2160 pixels (4K Ultra HD) at a refresh rate of 100 Hz, which provides a smoother picture than at 50-60 Hz. Wide aspect ratio - 16: 9. Edge LED backlighting is located on the sides of the LCD matrix in the form of white LEDs. This arrangement of the backlight reduced the size of the TV bezels, but created a problem in the form of small flares at the edges. According to the official specifications, the viewing angles are 178 °. Real support for HDR10, the brightness is enough for the technology to work properly.
Appearance
The appearance does not stand out in any way from other TVs on the market. Black plastic body. The frames are thin on the sides and top, the bottom is slightly thicker, and in the center there is an inscription of the manufacturer's name. On the reverse side there are input and output connectors. At the back, the thickness of the device goes from thicker at the bottom to thinner at the top. The TV can stand steadily on two arched legs or hang on the wall, the mounting standard is VESA 200 × 200.
Connectors
On board there are all the necessary connectors, inputs: AV, component (tulips), three HDMI 2.0, two USB, Ethernet (RJ-45), built-in Wi-Fi module 802.11n and Miracast. There is an optical audio output. One slot with support for CI + cards.
Sound
The powerful sound of the Samsung UE49NU7100U is provided by a stereo acoustic system with two speakers of 10 W each (20 W in total). Software support for surround sound has been implemented. Can decode Dolby Digital audio. Of the pleasant bonuses there is automatic volume leveling. The sound is similar to that of Panasonic TX-49FSR500, only this model is able to automatically level the volume, functionality and quality of other components better. This is understandable, because the difference in price is almost 13 thousand rubles.
Functions
Smart TV here is implemented on Samsung's own Tizen platform, based on Linux. Due to the popularity of the Samsung brand, finding apps / programs for the device will not be a problem. The TV supports DVB-S / T2. DLNA will provide comfortable use of a smartphone in symbiosis with a TV. You can watch content from your smartphone directly on your TV. The video stream can be recorded and saved to external USB drives. TimeShift will allow you to control the video stream, for example, pause or rewind. There is a very interesting "trick": you can transfer content to this TV from smartphones. A built-in light sensor adjusts the screen brightness depending on the lighting in the room. The same technology has Samsung QE49Q6FNA, which is almost twice as expensive.
Advantages and disadvantages
Benefits:
- fast and smooth Smart TV;

Disadvantages:
- lack of built-in Bluetooth;
- Wi-Fi module - not 5 GHz, which negatively affects the download speed of 4K content over the air;
- no support for DTS audio tracks.
Verdict
An excellent model for your money (about 38 thousand rubles). Suitable for those who like to play video games, because.Game mode provides minimal pixel response lag, and 100Hz refresh rate ensures smooth images. But there are also disadvantages, for example, the lack of support for DTS audio tracks, and these are mainly found in films on the Internet. If this flaw is critical, then LG 49SK8000 NanoCell, which is 1 thousand rubles more expensive, can correct this problem. LG has a brighter screen, IPS matrix and the same excellent audio system. In terms of smoothness and response time, the UE49NU7100U is much better than TCL L50P6US, which also boasted low latency. The Samsung Smart TV platform itself is more advanced than others based on Linux OS. There will be no problems with finding programs. Samsung UE49NU7100U shows excellent quality of Korean electronics and is not much inferior to its competitors.
Backlight, namely the left side vertically burns out faster. After reading various forums, we can assume that the factory setting of the backlight current rating is lame. The repairmen themselves (by soldering the resistors) adjust the current rating.
Unfortunately, the guarantee is only one year for this TV. I bought it in December 2018 and in April 2020 half of the TV is black. The edges of the case are thin, no more careful handling and a crack is provided. In the remote control, the manual and info buttons are close to the navigator buttons, it is inconvenient when you control the smart functions. The screen shows traces (beam direction) from the backlight.
