In some cases, the dimensions of the refrigerator do not allow it to be transported while standing, and carriers are forced to transport the refrigerator on its side.
In this case, engine oil can leak from the compressor into the refrigerant circuit. If the refrigerator is started immediately, it will try to push the oil further along the capillary tubes. We all know that oil, unlike gaseous refrigerant, hardly compresses, and the compressor will work at its limit to push it through. If it works at the limit for a long time, in total the compressor will fail and will have to be replaced with a new one.
There are several factors that affect how long the refrigerator can be turned on after transportation:
- If the refrigerator was transported in a horizontal position, you must wait 8-16 hours (during this time, the oil will return to its place).
- If the refrigerator was transported in warm weather and in an upright position, it will be enough to wait 2-4 hours.
- If the refrigerator was transported standing in the autumn or winter period, then you can turn it on no earlier than after 4-6 hours (during this time the refrigerator will heat up to room temperature and all the condensate will evaporate).

It is not recommended to immediately load empty chambers with large quantities of food. It is advisable to add a little bit so that the compressor can handle the load.

Here you need to follow the same steps as when transporting modern devices.That is, you need to disconnect from the mains, remove all food, defrost, pack trays and containers in cardboard, secure the door securely.
