Tablets won't dissolve in the dishwasher - what should I do?

The dishwasher makes life much easier for its owners, saving a lot of time that would have to be spent on washing dishes even in a small family. And a dishwasher breakdown is always out of place! One of the most common problems is the dishwashing tablet does not dissolve.

Types of dishwasher tablets

  • single and double layer;
  • combined.

The most practical of them are combined ones for dishwashers. They contain all the necessary components for a complete cleaning of dishes:

  • detergents;
  • conditioner for rinsing;
  • regenerating salt.

5 reasons why the pill won't dissolve

  1. Some of the most budget dishwasher models do not support the use of a certain type of detergent, this may be the reason why the tablet does not dissolve. Read the instructions for your dishwasher, what detergents the manufacturer recommends for this particular model.
  2. You bought low-quality pills or a fake of a well-known company. Try another brand of products, if this does not happen again - the reason is obvious.
  3. Use of the tablet with a gentle wash program. In this case, the tool simply does not have time to dissolve completely during the program's operation.
  4. Dosing compartment cover blocked. Check how easily the automatic dispenser valve opens. If its opening is difficult, the agent cannot come out of it and, accordingly, does not dissolve. It often happens that there are too many dishes in the machine, and it covers the dispenser. When the wash cycle is complete, the compartment opens and the dishwasher spits out the tablet safe and sound. To avoid such a nuisance, before each start of the dishwasher, make sure that the dishes do not interfere with the opening of the dispenser lid.
  5. The dosing compartment is wet. In this case, the tablet (and the powder too) absorbs moisture, sticks to the bottom of the compartment and cannot dissolve, or it dissolves too slowly and not completely. In this case, the dishwasher does not even spit out the tablet, it remains undissolved in the dispenser.

Poor dishwashing tablet dissolves poorly

If you are convinced that your dishwasher does not have any of the above problems, and the tablet still does not dissolve completely or partially, call the repairman. Perhaps the reason is insufficient water flow into the dishwasher due to a broken recirculation pump, inlet valve, or clogged sprinklers. In these cases, it is better not to try to repair your kitchen assistant yourself, but to trust the specialists.
